Use the following talking points and/or script when you call your Member of Congress.

For House Representative,  not signed :

Hi, My name is ________,  and I am calling in support of H.R. 808 that calls for the establishment of a US Department of Peace.  Our country needs a strategic, effective approach to resolving conflict nonviolently.  We need a unified platform in the Federal Government to support peacebuilding domestically and internationally.  Please tell Rep. ___________  that I support the Department of Peace, and that I also ask him/her to support the Department of Peace.   

For House Representatives that have signed onto the legislation:

Hi, My name is _________,  and I am calling to thank Rep. ___________ for signing onto H.R. 808 that calls for the establishment of a Department of Peace.  We need a unified platform in the Federal Government to support peacebuilding domestically and internationally.  The establishment of a Department of Peace will provide the investment that our nation must make in peacebuilding.  I would like for Rep. ________ to become a champion of this legislation.  Please ask the Representative to write a dear-colleagues letter and to continue speaking out in support of the Department of Peace.
